Pinterest will introduce “buyable Pins” in the coming weeks. “When you spot a Pin with a blue price, you’ll know you can buy it right from the app,” the company says. Like similar Call To Action buttons available on Facebook Pages, Pinterest says it won’t take a cut from sales and businesses will simply link to the ‘product added to cart’ page of their website, or a checkout page.
Instagram has announced its plans to open ads for all businesses, using a similar interface to Facebook Ads (the company is owned by Facebook). For instance it will begin using demographic data from Facebook to better target Instagram users. Availability is not expected for at least some months.
